Our leadership team brings together institutional investment experience, entrepreneurial drive, and deep industry knowledge—spanning acquisitions, finance, operations, and portfolio management. Together, we apply a disciplined, data-driven approach to self storage investment, focused on long-term value creation and consistent execution.

Jon Davenport

Director, Financial Planning & Analysis

Jon leads investment forecasting, financial consolidation, and investor reporting for IronHorse. He brings 20+ years of institutional experience from Northwood Investors and The BROE Group, with a background in asset management and financial planning. Jon holds an MBA in Finance from the University of Minnesota and a Master of Accounting and BBA in Finance and Accounting from the University of Iowa. Away from the office, he enjoys traveling, golfing, boating, and spending time with his family.

Wade Buxton

Founder & CEO

Wade drives IronHorse’s vision and investment strategy, leveraging a lifetime in self storage. From building his family’s facility to structuring institutional deals, he has deep expertise in acquisitions, asset management, and market strategy. He also serves as COO of ClearHome Self Storage. Wade holds an MBA and a degree in Real Estate & Construction Management from the University of Denver. Outside of work, he enjoys skiing and time with his wife and two daughters.

Chip Cipoletti

Vice President, Investments

Chip oversees IronHorse’s investment strategy, acquisitions, and portfolio performance. With a decade in real estate and finance, he specializes in deal structuring, market research, and financial modeling. He holds a degree in Finance from the University of Denver. When he’s not working, Chip enjoys hiking, skiing, cycling, and the local farmers’ markets

Jacob Sobek

Senior Associate, Acquisitions

Jacob specializes in sourcing and underwriting self storage investments, ensuring data-driven decision-making and portfolio growth. With a background in wealth management, he brings a strategic approach to acquisitions and capital deployment. He attended Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business, where he focused on Finance and Business Analytics. Outside of work, Jacob enjoys outdoor adventures, snowboarding, and cheering on the Chicago Cubs.

Mike Meacher

General Counsel

Mike leads IronHorse’s legal strategy, ensuring compliance and execution across all transactions. With over 15 years of experience at top Denver law firms, he has advised on acquisitions, financing, and asset management. He holds a J.D. from Washington & Lee University. In his free time, Mike enjoys fishing and exploring the mountains with his wife and daughters.

Laura Spitzmiller

Portfolio Management

Laura is involved in portfolio performance and oversees property-level operating budgets, using data to drive efficiency and growth. She brings over 15 years of experience in commercial real estate, including underwriting over $1B in loans, with a background in acquisitions, lending, development, and construction. Laura holds a degree in Finance and Real Estate from the University of Colorado Boulder. A Colorado native, she enjoys camping, hot springs, breweries, and time outdoors with her husband, son, and doggies

ClearHome Self Storage

Scott Smith

Director of Operations

Scott leads facility and team operations for ClearHome Self Storage, bringing 25 years of experience in process improvement, revenue growth, and operational strategy. Since joining in 2021, he has overseen the majority of the portfolio’s growth and performance. Previously, Scott held leadership roles at GPC (NAPA Auto Parts) and Public Storage, where he managed 70 properties and drove $300M+ in new development.

Daniel Nunez

Asset Manager

Daniel oversees capital and operating improvement projects across the ClearHome Self Storage portfolio, leading vendor relations, property management and expense management. In addition, Daniel also oversees all non-storage tenant spaces and leases. With over 15 years of experience in commercial real estate, including mixed-use portfolio management and redevelopment, he brings deep operational expertise to the team. Daniel has earned multiple certifications and was recognized by BOMA as a “Rising Star Commercial Property Manager.”

Tammy White

Controller

Tammy oversees accounting at ClearHome Self Storage, bringing a strong background in property accounting, financial operations, and tax strategy. Prior to joining ClearHome, she led teams in the Affordable Housing and LIHTC space, where she developed process improvements and operational efficiencies. Tammy holds degrees in Construction Management, Accounting, and an MBA with a concentration in Finance and Tax. A Colorado native and mom of three boys, she enjoys—golfing, camping, and visiting local breweries with her family.
